$300,000 Grand Prize

Everyone who attends the 2023 Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show, having bought their entry ticket either online or at the show will have the chance to go into a draw for the show’s most valuable must-be-won Grand Prize ever.

The 30th Anniversary 750 Game Fisher will truly be one to treasure. Built to acknowledge the birth of Surtees Boats in 1993, the special Limited Edition models celebrate the year when Neil Surtees decided to design and build himself an aluminium boat for fishing off the rough coast of Whakatane. His design, and its soft ride across the town’s notoriously rough bar, instantly created strong demand from other fishing locals, keen for one of their own.

Celebrating that beginning, and the 30 successful years since, the 30th Anniversary Grand Prize features an eye-catchingly elegant and stunningly distinctive blacked-out hull, comes with a stylish golden shimmer from bow to stern, high quality golden decals on the hull, cabin and bait station and a special 30th Anniversary golden badge on the transom.

It will, of course, also come complete with the company’s renowned Surtees SiQ™ technology package. Giving both greater stability (at rest and underway) and better handling in a wide range of conditions, Surtees SiQ™ includes Surtees Razortech™ smooth riding hull, Anti-Roll™ ballast stability control with Anti-Roll Lock™, Tough Deck™ super rigid hull construction, Safety Buoyancy airtight flotation compartments and Surtees’ 10-year hull warranty.

Built to fish, the Grand Prize 750 Game Fisher has been designed specifically for extended offshore cruising, with a large, 400-litre fuel tank, 530 litres of water ballast for even greater stability both underway and at rest, an 80-litre fresh water tank, electric hot water shower and sink, Engel electric fridge, an electric toilet and ample ventilation in the well-appointed enclosed cabin.

Like all Surtees boats, this 30th Anniversary Surtees/Yamaha Grand Prize has been built to fish. Its large, uncluttered cockpit is complimented by a live bait tank under a handy walk-through transom to an enclosed platform, with protective pushpits for safer fishing in offshore waters and a robust boarding ladder for fishers and divers. With four rod holders, a handy tackle drawer and ski pole, the stunning Surtees bait station will be complimented by numerous other rod holders, in both the side decks and rocket launcher and in a 4-rod clip-on shelf holder.
