The Trailer Boat Tournament this year has expanded it’s species schedule now to include Billfish, Wreckfish and a few more of those inshore species too. The event has also extended into a two day tournament so teams have the option of staying out over night and targeting those bigger fish that some of our offshore spots have to offer.

Maximum of 2 any species per angler per day

1-3 Measure & Release. Snapper & Kingfish.
1-3 Weigh. Billfish, Snapper, Kahawai, Skipjack Tuna, Albacore Tuna & Wreckfish Heaviest – Trevally/John Dory/Gurnard
1-3 Ladies & Junior. (across all species)

In the event of fish not being caught in one category, all prizes will be drawn.

Entries will be open from the 5th December all through the Tauranga Sport Fishing Club directly or by direct credit (all details on the entry form).

TEAMS Anglers may fish this tournament as individuals including fishing from PWCs and kayaks as long as they have VHF communications with COASTGUARD

BRIEFING 6.30pm Thursday 5th January 2017

NOTE Briefing is compulsory and team captains or a nominated team member who is fishing the tournament must register at the office on briefing night, no later than 6.00pm and is to attend and remain until the conclusion of briefing unless prior approval to not attend has been given by the Tournament Convenor.

Final weigh in time shall be the end of the contest. All fish and catch cards must be at the weigh station by the final weigh in time. (no exceptions).

TRAILER BOAT DEFINITION The boat must be on a trailer and be launched for the event. (Should the trailer boat be stored in a drystack, you may seek prior approval from the Tournament Convenor to fish the event). No maximum length on boats. The skipper of the boat is always responsible for ensuring the area, weather and sea conditions are satisfactory for safe use for the craft they are using
