20TH ANNUAL FISHING COMPETITION

Last weekend we held our 20th Annual Fishing Competition in Whakatane, and it was our biggest competition yet, with over $100k in prizes and giveaways, 260 anglers and 80 Surtees Boats in attendance. While the weather didn’t quite play ball, we still had 469 fish submitted and accepted and we gave away some epic prizes. A massive thank you to the Whakatane Sport Fishing Club for hosting us again, our incredible sponsors including Garmin, Yamaha, Daiwa, Honda, Air Chathams & Hotel Chathams, Lusty & Blundell and HEAPS more, our MCs Scott & Mig from Fishing and Adventure, and Ben Brown from Built to Fish TV for running a great Garmin auction.

The team from Whakatane Coastguard did an incredible job cooking breakfast and running our anglers back from the carpark, and I’m sure they will be stoked to know that we have raised over $15k for them over this competition. Well deserved!
